LemFi Announces Its Largest Growth Yet, Adding UK Savings Accounts, Credit Options, and eSIM Services

LemFi, a financial platform created for people living and working across different countries, just rolled out its new global brand called “Ambition has no passport.” They also completely redesigned their app and launched their biggest product expansion ever.

Over two million people currently use LemFi to send money to more than 30 countries. The platform handles more than $2 billion in transactions every month, and the company wants to expand to even more countries in the coming year.

The new and improved platform now offers savings accounts and credit options in the UK, eSIMs available in over 100 locations, plus LemFi’s original international money transfer service.

When people move to a new country, they bring their job experience, education, and financial history with them, but unfortunately none of it really matters. Your credit history basically disappears when you cross a border. Right now, about 304 million people live in countries different from where they were born, and they send around $905 billion back home every year.

However, most banks and financial companies still treat money services like they’re only for people living in one country. LemFi saw this problem and built their platform to fix it. They’re expanding beyond just international transfers—which is what started the company—to offer a full range of financial services for people whose lives cross borders.

“We started LemFi because sending money home was broken. What we learned is that the harder problem starts after the transfer,” said Ridwan Olalere, co-founder and CEO of LemFi. “Our customers are building careers and businesses in one country while supporting people in another, and the financial system treats them as if they can only exist in one place at a time. That is the wrong answer for people this ambitious, so we have rebuilt LemFi to work the way their lives do. Ambition travels. The infrastructure behind it should travel too.”

Inside LemFi’s expanded platform

Money transfers are still the main thing we do. You can send cash to over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and other places, all from one account that also lets you save money, borrow, and stay connected.

Savings that you can easily access in the UK. The LemFi Instant Access Savings Account gives you a higher 5% AER for the first six months after you open it; after that, it drops to 3.04% AER (tracker), which follows the Bank of England base rate. You can start an account with just £1, and there’s no charge if you want to take your money out.

Your money is kept by ClearBank and is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £120,000 for each person who deposits money.

A credit history that works in the UK. A credit line you can use over and over, available if there’s space for it, is given out by Lemfi Credit through Pillar, which is a credit company that the FCA watches over and that LemFi bought in 2025. You can use it as a virtual card through Apple Pay and Google Pay and spend money or send it. If you’re eligible, you can also check your Equifax credit score in the app for free.

eSIM in more than 100 places, everywhere we work. Get mobile data before you travel, with no need to swap your SIM and no extra roaming charges.

A company and an app that were rebuilt at the same time

The app was completely rebuilt from scratch to hold lots of different products across lots of different countries in just one account, instead of just adding them to a transfer app. The new design also puts LemFi’s products front and center in what you see, making them easier to find and giving the company room to add new things as it grows.

The company also came up with a new worldwide brand idea, “Ambition has no passport”, which shows that it cares about customers who are building jobs, businesses, families, and money situations across different countries. The new look shows up on LemFi’s products, website, ads, and social media and will come to all the places where it does business.

“LemFi started as a way to send money home. Our customers turned it into a way to build a life across borders,” said Isabel Ron-Pedrique, VP of Design and Brand at LemFi. “They are not defined by the country they left. They are defined by what they are building. Ambition has no passport is not a line we placed on top of the product. It is the idea the whole system is built from, from the app you open in the morning to the poster you walk past on the way to work. We have built this brand to keep up with them”

Right now in the UK, you can use savings and credit features, and they’re coming to other countries soon.
