Ghanaian music star Stonebwoy has teamed up with American recording artist Mashanda Faust and Atlanta-based musical group Hero The Band for “Wrong Toes,” an international team-up that’s part of the official soundtrack for the upcoming action comedy Boyz Trip.
The film is set to come out worldwide in theaters in 2027, and this collaboration brings together musicians from Ghana and the United States in a project that blends African music with international film.
The official music video for “Wrong Toes” was recently shot at Cape Town Film Studios in South Africa, with award-winning creative director Warren Gray directing the creative side of things.
The song was created by Alan Key and Faten El Sayed, with the whole project led by Alan Key and Kyle Scott, who founded Brisbane-based KeyScott Entertainment. Key came up with the original idea for the song, while Scott managed its creative development and execution with Faust, helping decide its sound and how it looks.
Stonebwoy Expands His Global Presence
Stonebwoy’s participation brings a unique Ghanaian musical flavor to the project. The award-winning artist, famous for mixing Afrobeats, reggae and dancehall, keeps looking for international partnerships that introduce African music to more people around the world.
His work with Faust and Hero The Band shows how African and American music industries are connecting more and more, especially through movie soundtracks and other entertainment projects that reach multiple platforms.
“Wrong Toes” is one of several original songs being made for the Boyz Trip soundtrack through KeyScott Entertainment’s new music division, which works on original movie music, music rights, helping artists grow and working with international partners.
