During the apprehension of Vincent Lotsu, law enforcement officers recovered sixteen sacks of desiccated foliage suspected to be Indian hemp from the agricultural property.
The aforementioned suspect was taken into custody by the Kpando-stationed Marine Police unit whilst conducting routine surveillance operations along the Volta Lake on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
According to an official police communiqué dated October 16 and released by the Volta North Regional Police Command on Friday, personnel identified an enclosed wooden facility situated adjacent to the lake, within which they uncovered what is believed to be a cannabis cultivation site.
The sixteen sacks of dried botanical material were found in Lotsu’s possession, resulting in his detention on charges relating to the unauthorized cultivation and possession of controlled substances.
Subsequently, both Lotsu and the confiscated materials have been transferred to the Kpando Police Divisional Investigation Department for comprehensive examination.
The suspected controlled substances have been forwarded to the forensic laboratory for scientific analysis, whilst the detainee continues to remain in police custody and cooperates with the investigative process.
