Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has asked well-known people in the entertainment world to use their power to help young people make smart choices and create good lives for themselves.
During an interview with SammyKay Media on October 25, 2026, the actress pointed out that famous people and other entertainment industry workers need to think about how their behavior in public and what they say affects younger people.
She warned creative professionals not to use their influence to push young people into doing things that could hurt them in the long run, and instead told them to be role models that kids want to copy.
She said;
“As people who have already established ourselves in the industry, I want to use this medium to tell all of us that our platforms should be able to impact the youth positively. We shouldn’t instigate; we shouldn’t incite any youth to go and do something that will affect their future. Let’s be examples, great examples someone will look up to, to live their lives and be proud at the end of the day”
Sarfo also pointed out how important it is to live in a way that makes parents feel confident their kids are following good role models. She thinks that creative people should work to become mentors who inspire young people to make good choices and stay out of trouble.
She went on to say;
“Let’s live our lives in such a way that when someone mentions us as their mentor to their parents, their parents will also be happy that their child will be on the right path. I think that’s all we need to do as creatives’
Sarfo had a message for young people too, telling them to be patient and not compare their progress to what other people have accomplished. She explained that everyone’s journey is different and encouraged young people to concentrate on their own personal development instead of stressing about living up to what others expect from them. She said;
“Life is lifing everybody. Let’s take things slow. Listen, someone’s journey will never be like yours and it’s fine. Let’s take it easy, one step at a time
The actress also told young people to take advantage of the chances they have, build real friendships, and think carefully about what kind of life they want to create for themselves.
She said that growing as a person means getting ready to help others and make their lives better too. Sarfo said;
“Let’s take advantage of opportunities around us and, you know, let’s build great connections and also be intentional about building a life in order to impact somebody in the near future
She also cautioned people about getting too caught up in wanting public attention or always feeling like they need to show others what they’re capable of.
Instead, she encouraged young people to focus on living with real purpose and not let the chase for recognition control what they decide to do.
She said;
“Plus, we shouldn’t spend all our lives trying to be seen, trying to prove a point to anybody. Just live your life
