The police have declared Osei Anto a wanted suspect and are offering a reward of GH¢100,000: Sakumono murder

The Ghana Police Service has announced a reward of GH¢100,000 for any information that leads to the capture of Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, the main suspect in the murders of two individuals at NTHC Estate, Sakumono.

Osei Anto is wanted for the deaths of George Atuguba, 57, and his 47-year-old niece, Irene Atuguba, whose remains were found at their home on Friday, October 30, 2026.

In a statement released on Friday, the Police called on the public to provide any credible information regarding the suspect’s location, assuring that they are doing everything possible to ensure he faces justice.

Additionally, the Police have taken Beatrice Mumuni, 47, into custody, as she is believed to have been with Osei Anto at the victims’ home prior to the murders. She is currently helping with the investigation.

Initial investigations indicate that the tragic event may have arisen from a financial disagreement involving George Atuguba, who reportedly borrowed GH¢500,000 from Osei Anto but did not pay it back.

According to the Police, Osei Anto allegedly went to the victims’ home with Mumuni on the morning of the incident to demand the repayment, but a conflict reportedly ensued, leading him to shoot and kill both victims.

After the victims were declared dead at the hospital, their bodies were taken to the Police Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The Police are encouraging anyone with information that could help in locating Osei Anto to contact the nearest police station or call the emergency numbers 191 or 18555.
